Dr. Peter Königshof is a conodont biostratigrapher as well as a sedimentologist, with particular expertise in microfacies analysis. He led the IGCP 596 Project and was the head of the Senckenberg Research Institute and Natural History Museum in Frankfurt, Germany until his retirement in 2025.
